1st half of 16th C Swabian sculpture representing Saint Georges slaying the Devil. Sculpture to apply to the wall in polychrome and gilt linden wood. Dressed as a soldier with a large drape with flattened and circular flaps, rigth arm up (without his sword), left arm holding a shield decorated with a cross, he strongly expresses the figth between Good and Evil.
This iconography was particularly disseminated in the Holy Roman Empire.

Pair of ornemental motifs in carved and gilt wood. They are executed with finesse and a lot of complications, with decoration of scrolls, ribbons, acanthus leaves and flowerets. In the center, a black leather, stuck on a round shape, emphasizes the gildings.
The presence of leather and the marked character of these sculptures make us think of Spanish 17th century Baroque.

The body of Christ is supported by Nicomede and Joseph of Arimathea while the apostle St John, as a sign of affection, holds his head. In the background, the Virgin (with hands together and eyes down) and a Holy Woman are in prayer. Rhine work circa 1500.
