Saint Lucy of Syracuse. 16th C statue in carved oak wood. Born into a patrician family in Sicily, she was a virgin and a martyr.
Richly adorned and dressed, she holds a dish on which her eyes are placed. Her first name refers to light what generated in the popular imagination the invention of his martyrdom concerning the eyes.
