18th C Important commode (chest of drawers), curved on all sides. It comprises 2 drawers and rests on 4 scrolled feet; the low crosspieces, uprights and drawer fronts are richly carved with shells and acanthus leaves. The wooden top, moulded in corbin’s beak (bec de corbin), follows the sinuous shape of this ceremonial chest of drawers.
