18th C Arlesian wedding armoire. In walnut wood. Sold.
18th C Arlesian wedding armoire. In the Provencale tradition, the front is richly carved : the curved cornice is underlined by a row of pearls and a guilloche frieze ; it surmounts a basket, protruding, of fruits and flowers ; the doors, 3-panel mounted, are carved with flowers on the crossbars ; the middle part between the doors takes up the marriage symbols with a tied ribbon, a pair of burning hearts, musical instruments and the bridal crown ; a soup tureen surrounded by flowers on the low crossbar completes the whole.
An important ironwork with thick hinges and keyholes along the full heigth of the doors in polished iron, enriches all.
In walnut wood.
