17th C large baroque cartouche in carved and gilt wood comprising a marouflaged oil on canvas decorated with a helmet flanked by 2 lions opening a scroll on which is represented, on a gold background, a caravel. This painted ship and the carved marine ropes probably refer to a port or a marine institution (to be defined). Hispano-Flemish work.
