18th C “sauteuse” Commode comprising 2 drawers. Curved front decorated with carved acanthus leaves, cut branches of olive tree and , at the center, a tied ribbon that symbolizes marriage bond. Low apron decorated with a fretwork comprising a soup tureen topped by a pine cone. Based on 4 scroll feet. The top, with double moulding, enlarges on the sides. In walnut wood. From Nîmes (Provence).
